Due to the current COVID 19 pandemic, the North Modesto Kiwanis Club will not hold its
annual American Graffiti Festival & Car Show this year.
This cancellation includes the popular car parade (classic car cruise) and the two-day show and festival that had been scheduled June 12-14.
If the public health crisis has subsided sufficiently by fall, the club may look at being involved in a smaller event to celebrate our Graffiti legacy but nothing firm is planned at this time, said American Graffiti event chairman, Brent Burnside.
“The health of the community, the car owners and spectators has to be priority one,” Burnside said. “We are praying for everyone, and we promise to return with a show that is better than ever in 2021.”
The American Graffiti Festival, which has been held each of the last 21 years, is put on entirely by volunteers — Kiwanis members and supporters from other service clubs, car groups and businesses. All proceeds go to local non-profits, most of them serving children and youth.
The club already is making its plans as to how to continue to support community programs in the coming year, said North Modesto Kiwanis president Robert Husman.
Refunds will be provided to the car owners who had already submitted entries for the 2020 show.

Welcome to the 22nd annual American Graffiti™ Festival. Festival dates are Friday June 12 (parade night), Saturday June 13 and Sunday June 14 (Festival show days). The Festival grounds will be at the Modesto Municipal Golf Course located at the corner of Tuolumne Blvd. and Roselawn Avenue in Modesto, California.
The Parade on Friday June 12 starts at 5:30PM and will once again run from downtown to McHenry Avenue, making a U-turn at Brigsmore Avenue then proceeding back into downtown. Remember, you must be registered in the show to be entered in the parade. See the information sheet for locations and times of registration and all events. Also, note the change to the Friday night registration/check-in location.
The Festival includes Vendors, Food, and Music and it surely will be a fun time for all participants. You can use this web site to register on-line, print a mail-in registration form, read and/or print the information sheet, sign up to be a sponsor, or to apply for a vendor space. We will start taking reservations in mid March 2020 so watch the website – www.americangraffitifestival.com.
This show is staffed by an all-volunteer group of North Modesto Kiwanis Club members, their families, friends and associates. Local charities also come out to assist with this great event. All proceeds go to charity so come and enjoy a fun filled weekend and help us support those charities. Tickets are only available at the gate or on our website. Adults $10 and Children 12 and under are free. There is no charge to view the parade.
